Shin Netsuden Toso Kogyo handles coating work using diverse paints and methods. Depending on the material and its application—such as plastics, steel sheets, aluminium, stainless steel, or magnesium alloys—the company employs tailored techniques including precision coating, powder coating, ceramic/fluorine/heat-resistant coating, large box/heavy-duty coating, and anti-fouling/antimicrobial coating. The company undertakes coating processing for components across a wide range of industries, including construction machinery, automotive, testing equipment, aerospace, and housing equipment.
Shin Netsuden Toso Kogyo was founded in 1961. It initially began as a coating contractor for steel furniture. ‘The founder possessed a strong spirit of challenge, driving forward investments such as new factory construction while actively pioneering new fields,’ explains Managing Director Yoshiyuki Takahashi regarding the company's growth. While there was a period when most parts coated were for home appliances, the range of components now handled has significantly broadened. Responding to increased coating demand, a new factory was completed in Seika Town, Kyoto Prefecture, in October 2025. The company currently operates five coating factories: four domestically in Kadoma, Kyoto, Ichijima (Tamba City), and Itami; plus a local subsidiary in Zhejiang Province, China, established as a joint venture with Sasaki Kogyo (Toyonaka City).
The company's strength lies in its ability to handle the entire process, from surface treatment prior to coating to the coating itself, on an integrated line. Coating of resins and metals is carried out on production lines, while magnesium alloys undergo both surface treatment and coating within the same factory using a batch processing method. Another attractive feature is its capability to meet diverse customer requirements regarding quantity and size.
Each domestic coating plant possesses distinct characteristics. The Kadoma Plant specialises in precision coating for automotive and information and communications equipment components. It houses temperature- and humidity-controlled clean rooms alongside robotic coating lines. The Kyoto Plant excels in heavy items and large structures such as construction machinery. Powder coating is undertaken by the Ichijima Plant, while heat-resistant coating is handled by the Itami Plant. By dividing specialised fields among the plants to enhance productivity, we meet customers' stringent QCD requirements and frequently receive commendations from them.
Shin Netsuden Toso Kogyo, in cooperation with the International Human Resources Development Organisation (I.M. Japan), accepts numerous technical trainees from overseas. For these trainees, the company regularly conducts skill tests related to painting work and written academic tests in accordance with the programme. Daily instruction also aims to improve their skill acquisition. All trainees participate in the annual company outing, organised to boost employee motivation and foster internal communication. Many trainees return to work at the company after completing their training period.
