MTI possesses an integrated production system covering everything from prototype press parts to mould design and manufacture, forming, secondary processing, and assembly. Combining its founding experience in the mould business with its past track record in labour-saving equipment, it handles a wide range of component manufacturing for diverse sectors including automotive, construction, and solar power generation. Amidst increasing complexity and sophistication of various components alongside shorter delivery times, the company is well-regarded for its manufacturing approach that creates new value from the ground up in collaboration with customers through VA/VE proposals.
MTI possesses a total of 14 press machines, including multiple progressive presses. Progressive presses excel in mass production capability and productivity; four of the company's progressive presses utilise a double-crank mechanism. Should mould issues arise, the company possesses the in-house maintenance facilities and expertise to minimise disruption to production schedules, which is another key strength.
Furthermore, its integrated production system for order-based manufacturing reduces the customer's burden of placing orders with different companies for each processing type, facilitating short lead times and quality control. While such a production system is becoming a trend in the parts manufacturing industry, the company is particularly highly regarded for its secondary processing after press work. Beyond tap (threaded hole) machining and cutting, it collaborates with nearby partner companies to provide integrated solutions for plating and painting. Furthermore, following secondary processing, it handles assembly, inspection, packaging, and even rubber and seal application – essential for cushioning and temporary fixing in automotive and construction components. This level of integrated production capability is rare and is a key factor in MTI Co., Ltd.'s strong market position.
MTI ability to supply customers with high-quality finished products in a short time stems not only from its integrated production system and in-house mould maintenance, but also from various other innovations. One example is labour-saving equipment that completes two processes – press riveting and tapping – in a single location via a turntable. This development was made possible by the expertise gained from contributing to customer production site efficiency in our labour-saving equipment business, combined with our corporate culture that constantly seeks on-site improvements. We practise manufacturing brimming with ingenuity and creativity, something unachievable by merely lining up standard machines.
MTI excels not merely in manufacturing parts as specified by customers, but in enhancing them through value analysis and value engineering proposals. For instance, when a customer envisaged adding bolts to a part via welding after press forming, MTI proposed a press-crimping joining method. This achieved substantial cost reductions and shorter lead times while maintaining the required strength. Such professional expertise and proposal capabilities differentiate MTI from its competitors.
