Ueno Tekko specialises in the manufacture of metal products and components through sheet metal processing such as cutting and bending. It also excels in the processing of shaped steel products like pipes and channel sections. Founded in 1965 as a sheet metal fabrication business producing three-dimensional structures and tanks, it transitioned to a production system specialising in laser processing from 2002, enabling the provision of high-precision products with short lead times. In addition to sheet metal fabrication, the company undertakes machining, tapping, welding, and surface treatment.
Shaped steel sections such as round and square pipes, channel sections, angle sections, and H-sections are frequently processed into long components like columns and rails. Products and components manufactured by Ueno Tekko are widely used in construction, railway applications, and food processing plants. Due to their complex cross-sectional shapes, shaped steel sections are prone to deformation during processing, and vibration and deflection are also likely to occur. Ueno Tekko prevents such processing defects by appropriately selecting between two types of laser processing machines: fibre and carbon dioxide. Furthermore, it can handle material lengths up to 12 metres and round pipes with diameters up to 400mm.
A key strength of Tekko is its responsive production system capable of same-day delivery. This is achieved through the introduction of automated laser processing systems enabling 24-hour continuous operation. Furthermore, by precisely controlling the laser beam to minimise burr formation, the company reduces post-processing requirements, further facilitating short lead times. Another advantage is that all employees possess thorough expertise, from handling drawings to processing methods, enabling efficient administrative tasks.
A press brake is a machine that bends sheet metal to a specified angle or shape. During processing, marks along the die can appear on the product; however, Ueno Tekko has established a method to prevent such marks by using special sheets and dedicated dies. Furthermore, regarding a request to engrave a star pattern onto a stainless steel sphere, Ueno Tekko has a proven track record of accomplishing this using a 3D laser processing machine. Non-oxidising cutting of stainless steel enables high-quality processing with a lustrous sheen and brilliance, and we are also well-regarded for our brilliants cuts.
Ueno Tekko relocated to its new headquarters and factory in September 2025. Alongside the existing second factory (in Settsu City), the company reviewed the allocation of processing equipment and personnel to enhance production efficiency. Furthermore, the new headquarters and factory introduced a new laser processing machine dedicated to small-diameter pipes up to 152 mm in diameter. In addition to handling cutting, drilling, and tapping operations, it can also perform beveling to shape joints into optimal forms, aiming to improve welding strength and finish quality.
