A leading company in the water supply field, combining skilled craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology

Headquarters and factory located at Techno Stage, Izumi City

Specialist manufacturer of water supply fittings and components, including distribution valves

KOMEI MFG. specialises in producing water supply fittings and components, including saddle-type branch valves, stop valves, and connectors. Saddles refer to fittings attached to distribution pipes, enabling branch work without interrupting the main water supply; they are widely used by local authorities nationwide. The company also operates a temporary pipework rental service, contributing to avoiding prolonged water cuts during water main renewal works and large-scale apartment refurbishments. The water supply equipment products handled by the company play a vital role in our daily lives, including being utilised as emergency restoration materials during disasters.

Capable of handling multiple product varieties with proprietary casting solutions and moulding machines

KOMEI MFG. has established an integrated production system encompassing everything from sourcing copper alloy castings as raw materials through casting, machining, assembly, and inspection. By integrating automation technology, it delivers high-value-added products. Its particular strength lies in possessing proprietary casting solutions and moulding machines, enabling flexible and diverse production tailored to the material and application of connecting pipes, such as metal pipes and polyethylene pipes. We strive to enhance productivity and reduce costs by introducing automated robots in machining processes and implementing cell production systems in assembly.
Another strength lies in our numerous technicians honoured with Osaka Prefecture's “Naniwa Master Craftsman” award for outstanding skilled workers and the “Naniwa Young Master Craftsman Award” for outstanding young skilled workers. While incorporating cutting-edge technologies such as high-frequency induction electric furnaces, the company maintains high-quality molten metal through quality control that blends advanced technology with skilled craftsmanship, earning strong customer trust.
To date, it has supplied castings to approximately 20 external companies, with a proven track record in producing components for water valves, water meter parts, and firefighting piping equipment.

Strengths

The newly developed 'Smart Valve'

KOMEI MFG. has independently developed the ‘Smart Valve’, an automated valve that can be opened and closed remotely via computers or smartphones. This enables remote valve operation during events such as tenant move-ins or move-outs, eliminating the need for water authority staff to visit the site and thereby reducing manpower requirements. Furthermore, when installed at the end of a pipe, it can initiate or halt drainage based on residual chlorine concentration levels.
Currently, practical application trials are underway with water authorities nationwide, including Osaka City Waterworks Bureau. Discussions are progressing towards its practical implementation as ancillary equipment for smart water meters.

Reuse V temporary piping installed in apartment buildings

KOMEI MFG. has developed and supplies Reuse V, its proprietary temporary piping system for apartment buildings. Conventional temporary piping systems used PVC pipes, which were difficult to reuse and were discarded after use. In contrast, Reuse V employs lightweight, easy-to-handle polyethylene pipes. Its key feature is that pipes can be repaired, cleaned, and sterilised for repeated use. This eliminates waste material generation, contributing to waste reduction and lower environmental impact. The company holds five related patents.
