Their Osaka lattice doors feature distinct front and rear structures, with the lattice section crafted from kumiko. This allows the doors to function as highly ventilated lattice doors in summer and as airtight doors in winter. These fittings thus combine outstanding functionality with design excellence. Examples include Miki Nakajima's ‘HACO-DANCE’, which updates the traditional Japanese staircase chest of drawers into a contemporary form, and the ‘Flower Kumiko Series’ utilising cloisonné kumiko.
