DAISEN ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIAL Industries manufactures commercial remote controls and develops automated control systems, IoT systems, and educational robots for integration into equipment and machinery. Its online store sells over 200 types of products and electronic components. The company also customises these for bespoke system development. Headquartered in Osaka's Nipponbashi-suji Shopping Street, known as “Denden Town” – a prime location for procuring electrical and electronic components – the company possesses both the personnel and expertise to develop integrated hardware and software solutions. It caters to diverse customer requirements.
DAISEN ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIAL's remote control business has been a core operation since the company's founding. Beyond consumer electronics such as televisions, it undertakes OEM and ODM production for equipment control tools used in industrial machinery, medical devices, commercial facilities, and more. The company manufactures not only control boards but also moulds for enclosures (exterior casings) in-house, and stocks standard products employing various communication protocols. Five years after its founding, in 1992, it formally entered the embedded systems development business. It undertook work laying the groundwork for recent IoT business areas at an early stage, such as factory production line control and car park fee systems.
In the IoT field, the company provides battery-free wireless sensors, data transmission devices, and cloud systems for data aggregation and utilisation. It undertakes the construction of remote monitoring systems, such as visualising public toilet usage and managing temperatures within factories.
President Hiroaki Tanaka states, ‘The power-saving and wireless technologies at the core of our founding remote control business have directly contributed to our current IoT-related product development.’ The company will continue to leverage this technical expertise to meet diverse customer needs.
EnOcean is an international standard for wireless communication utilising environmental energy harvesting technology, which converts minute energy sources such as light, temperature, and vibration into electricity. DAISEN ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIAL commenced with the commercialisation of remote control switches that transmit radio waves and continues to develop various types of wireless sensors employing this technology. A key feature is the ability to integrate these sensors into IoT systems, enabling the construction of highly sustainable mechanisms that are both wiring-free and battery-free.
DAISEN ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIAL offers a wide range of proprietary products utilising wireless modules, handling 2.4GHz, 920MHz, Bluetooth, LoRa, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, Wi-Fi Halow, and other technologies. This enables us to propose optimal systems tailored to customer specifications.
Furthermore, development of educational robots commenced in 2004, accompanied by the complimentary distribution of software enabling even primary and secondary school pupils to visually construct operational programmes. Cumulative sales of these robots now exceed 30,000 units. The company also conducts outreach classes for educational institutions, hosts free robotics workshops for children, and operates the robotics competition ‘Robo RAVE OSAKA’. Workshop participants regularly compete in global robotics competitions such as ‘RoboCup’ each year.
