Pursuing quality, cost and delivery, achieving overwhelming market share in the commercial vehicle mirror sector characterised by high-mix, low-volume production

In-house execution of numerous processes including machining centre operations

100% market share for city bus mirrors

DAITO PRESS Manufacturing is an automotive parts manufacturer holding a significant share in the commercial vehicle mobility mirror market. Within the city bus segment alone, it commands a 100% share, while in the combined bus and construction machinery market, it boasts a 90% share. The company handles the entire process, from mirror design and die production through pressing and resin moulding, machining and assembly, to quality control and performance evaluation testing. Building upon this production system, it continuously improves Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) by promoting cell production enabling high-mix low-volume production and in-house manufacturing.

Continuing to deepen integrated production through expanded in-house manufacturing

DAITO PRESS Manufacturing manufactures dies and handles painting processes in-house, while also producing mirror components at its overseas subsidiaries – a task competitors typically outsource. In recent years, it has further strengthened its integrated production system by bringing more parts, materials, and processes in-house, including initiating in-house die-casting. This enhances design and development flexibility, enabling the company to accommodate high-mix, low-volume production.
The commercial vehicle mobility mirror market sees mirror specifications vary significantly depending on vehicle type, body size, driver seat position, and usage environment. Having produced over 7,000 different mirror types over the past 90 years, this track record demonstrates the company's high capability in handling high-mix, low-volume production.
Furthermore, the increased design freedom achieved through in-house production contributes to securing the Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) that customers expect. In mirror design and development, key challenges include eliminating driver blind spots, ensuring stable visibility and high durability, alongside supplying products at optimal cost and delivery times. Leveraging over 90 years of technical expertise and experience, the company continues to pursue high quality through unique innovation, catering to diverse fields such as tourist coaches, construction machinery, and road mirrors.
