Nishida Printing Works has been a corporate label and sticker printing company based in Higashiōsaka City for over half a century. It has a strong reputation for small-lot, short-lead-time digital printing. Furthermore, it handles variable printing, capable of printing different content on each individual sheet as variable data, such as numbering (sequential numbers), barcodes, and random numbers. This enables the printing of individual serial numbers or information specific to each product or customer.
The company can create print data from physical samples or hand-drawn design proposals and offers next-day delivery for labels and stickers produced via digital printing combined with die-cutting. This extensive range of services makes it highly valued by its customers.
Nishida Printing Works handles a wide range of label and sticker printing and processing. With equipment capable of handling widths up to 300mm and digital printing presses, it offers sheet-cut finishing, roll finishing, and perforated folding finishing. Furthermore, even for spot colours, its ink mixing system ensures consistent colour reproduction for repeat orders.
The company's strength is underpinned by highly skilled operators who master these facilities. The lead operator received the “Technical and Patent Committee Award” at the 2018 “Label Contest” hosted by The Japanese Federation of Label Printing Industries. The award recognised complex colour expression involving gradients using Nishida Printing Works's four-colour presses, alongside adhesive application techniques and die-cutting processes. Winning this contest, which comprehensively judges printing technology, processing techniques, and quality control, brought the company's printing expertise to wider recognition. Furthermore, designers with 25 years of experience underpin the company's proposal capabilities, enabling a broad range of specialised printing services including pad printing.
Nishida Printing Works is highly regarded for its special colour printing using letterpress technology. Letterpress printing involves applying ink to the raised areas of a plate, similar to a seal, and transferring it directly onto paper by applying pressure. This technique produces a finish with sharp, bold outlines. Due to these characteristics, letterpress printing is the mainstream method for sticker and label printing. Whereas a standard overlap of 0.15mm is typically maintained between colours, Nishida Printing Works reduces this to 0.1mm. This enables sharper outlines for text and designs, beautifully reproducing intricate patterns. The company's technical prowess shines through in its ability to produce printing plates with micrometre-level precision, perform exacting adjustments on its printing presses, and maintain rigorous quality control over materials.
Nishida Printing Wokks initially operated as a subcontractor specialising in label printing. By its tenth year, the company had established direct business relationships with distributors and manufacturers. This achievement stemmed from dedicated efforts to enhance technical capabilities and build trust, bolstered by the design department established upon the arrival of Kiyohide Nishida, the second-generation representative. In-house design enabled swift data revisions, emergency responses such as corrective labels, and the planning and production of original designs. This integrated production process, covering everything from design to printing, led to shorter lead times and cost reductions, establishing the company as a preferred printing partner for numerous clients.
